Just outside of Lynchburg, VA, we headed northwest to take the scenic route. We travelled up and down the rolling hills on the country roads with beautiful reveals of the mountains around every turn. We ultimately ended up at Devils Backbone Brewery in Roseland, VA that day, our first taste of Rockfish Valley. After lunch (and a couple beers), we started dreaming of being able to come back to the area again soon to relax, have fun, and most importantly, reconnect as a family. After more trips that year and next, we started thinking, “maybe we could find a place to buy.” In the busyness of life - growing a business, coaching youth sports and running kids around every night, we realized time was moving fast, and we needed to “slow down” and “enjoy life”. We ultimately found some land and started planning.
